If you’ve been away from art for a while and want to pick it up again, or if you’re eager to learn how to draw from scratch, this class is perfect for you! In this course, you'll get an introduction to the essential materials used in drawing, including a breakdown of different pencil grades and how to effectively use them to achieve various effects. I’ll guide you through the foundational steps of creating an outline like a true artist, including what to focus on when starting a drawing and how to see like an artist. You’ll learn key techniques for measuring proportions accurately and gain a deeper understanding of how to observe your subject to capture it correctly. I'll demonstrate how to apply professional shading techniques, bringing depth and realism to your work, while highlighting the common mistakes to avoid. By the end of the class, you'll feel more confident in your drawing abilities and equipped with the skills to continue your artistic journey! Note: You will need to bring your own materials to classes 1. A set of graphite pencils: 4H, 2H, HB, 2B, 4B (For example: Staedtler Trandition pencils or Staedtler Mars Lumograph) 2. Putty eraser, normal eraser and Mono Zero from Tombow 3. Quill Sketchpad (A4 or A3) 4. Derwent Superpoint Metal Pencil Sharpener

Cancellation Policy

A cancellation of a full term class must be done by email, for up to two weeks before commencement for a full refund. All cancellations later than two weeks prior will occur a drop out fee of $50. No refunds will be issued after first class of term commencement. Due to the small number of classes I am running at the moment, I can not provide make-up lessons. So please take this into account when booking.
